Gaia Global are proud to be headhunting several Senior Accountants for one of the World's largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms. If you are looking to excel your career and make an impact, then this opportunity to relocate from the UK to Western Australia.

Overall job purpose

You would be part of a hardworking Team specialises in financial due diligence, advising clients on business acquisitions and investments. Deal values are typically in the £5m to £100m range.

This role provides an opportunity for you to join the fast-moving world of Corporate Finance and Transaction Services. Working alongside a team of other professionals you will play an integral role in the delivery of financial due diligence projects.

You will work for a variety of clients from a broad range of industries and sectors including private equity, entrepreneurs, large corporates and banks looking to acquire, invest in or fund a variety of businesses. You will see what makes a business successful, and attractive to acquirers / investors and learn about possible funding options for companies looking to grow. 
 
Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
  • Apply relevant UK knowledge of client/firm/industry trends and current issues and develop these
  • Prepare clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed
  • Check financial statements and management accounts eliminating adding, referencing and typing errors
  • Helps identify accounting issues
  • Apply basic tax compliance procedures
  • Assist with tax planning for clients
  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
  • Complete requisite regulatory forms and comply with lodgement program by meeting lodgement dates and requirements.

Personal and professional qualities

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant - CA/ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working within a professional services practice is essential
  • Genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, understanding how businesses generate profits and cash including working capital cycles
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Have previous experience working within transaction Services / due diligence would be beneficial
  • Demonstrate experience of project managing a number of engagements at the same time and managing a team of staff
  • Be technically strong with a good understanding of both UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Displays high level of accuracy, diligence and integrity
  • Commercially minded and a creative and critical thinker
  • Willing to travel as required
